Description

You are more likely to share your faith with your friends than others. They are the people that God has put into your life, as you probably share interests and are more likely to have opportunities to witness to them.

There are some people who find it difficult to make friends. They may be: elderly and isolated; have just moved into the area; or they are struggling in some way with life. Could you befriend someone of the same sex, deliberately attempting to make friends with them, to make time for them? Pray for them and for opportunities to share the good news.

Rationale

There were many occasions where Jesus spent time with the unloved. He ate with tax collectors, prostitutes, and spent time with an adulterous woman. Jesus did not write people off, but he made time for them and befriended them. In our journey to pursue Christlikeness it is important we take befriending people seriously.

Outcome

People are loved, befriending bears witness to Jesus, the gospel is shared.
