Engage local church, community artists or local school art departments, to create paintings, sculptures or art installations using food, with the title,” ‘Harvests of Hope.’ What will food be like in heaven?” Establish an exhibition of their work, and invite the local community.

You could:

  • Invite the local mayor to open the exhibition, and take photos for the local papers. At the launch ask some of the artists to explain the thoughts behind their work and capture this on video.

  • Keep the exhibition free of charge, but have a donations pot for a food poverty or homelessness charity.

  • Create a simple website to share a virtual version of the exhibition, using videos of the art and artists commentaries.

In the UK, a current trend has been observed for the population to believe that there is some sort of divine being out there, but very few seem to consider that heaven exists. The absence of heaven could be described as an absence of hope. The art basis of this activity helps explore the themes of life after death, in a non-threatening manner.

Heaven is explored, hope is encouraged, conversations may be stimulated.
