Connect with your community by organising, or taking part in a local summer fete. Many community groups will be present at events like these, but not many will offer creative, engaging and fun activities for local families.

The key is to identify the skills and hobbies of your church members:

  • Children’s workers could organise parachute games.

  • Artists could face paint.

  • Musicians could offer an outdoor music workshop.

  • Cooks could offer a workshop on baking.

  • Eco warriors could start to build a green house from used plastic bottles.


The possibilities, are only limited by the hidden talents of your church members. The key is to serve and wow people, offer something exciting not just colouring sheets for children or stand with information. The purpose of this activity is to engage with your local community, to create opportunities for conversations, and to demonstrate that the church is relevant to them today.


The community is served in a fun and engaging way. Conversations and connections should naturally develop.
