Description

The rugby authorities want to get rugby and the message of its values into every school in the country and are open to churches helping make this happen.

As a result, any church with links to a local primary or secondary school could benefit this programme and build stronger relationships. To help, Scripture Union is preparing relevant school syllabus related materials.

Half term holiday clubs

The school half term falls in the latter part of October, when rugby world cup fever will be at its height. This makes it an ideal opportunity to run a holiday club with a Rugby World Cup theme, and special resources will be available.

Rationale

Jesus said his followers were to be like lights on a hilltop - good news for travellers in the dark, offering direction and the promise of a welcome – and that the things they do to make this happen should cause others to praise God.
The World Cup 2015 gives churches the opportunity to make that a reality in their communities. It is one more great occasion to make Christ’s love visible.

Outcome

To build stronger relationships with schools and families.
